Sitting in the scrap line at Sterling, IL, is New York Central 4-6-4 Hudson type #5417 (serial #68851, clas J-3a). The loco was built by ALCo-Schenectaady in October of 1937 and lasted nearly 17 years until retirement in October of 1954.
