Bulilt by Burnham, Wms & Company (Baldwin predecessor) in December of 1901, this 2-8-0 Consolidation was part of a very large group of Consolidations that ATSF used mostly at first for passenger service. Specs - serial #19875, class 789, 57" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 17x32" high pressure cylinders, 28x32" low pressure cylinders, engine weight of 202,360 lb, tractive effort of 42,321 lb. The entire 789 class of Vauclain compound locomotives was simplified starting in 1912. Retirements started in late 1930's and continued for nearly 20 years.
