Looking east at Sturm Foods at the end of the spur that leads from the former GB&W mainline, now CN branch, into downtown, as seen from Bridge St., Manawa, WI on 2 Jun. '13. Sturm Foods (currently a subsidiary of TreeHouse Foods), received rail service until a couple of years ago. A disagreement between the two parties has left rail service in limbo. The facility is larger than it looks here. The small, tan, wood-frame building to the right of the spur is the old GB&W freight house, which was built in 1898 and retired by the GB&W in 1951 (http://www.greenbayroute.com/depots.htm). |
