Fairly poor quality photo taken back in 1936 by photographer Anderson of Western Pacific 4-6-0 ten wheeler #78. The loco was built by Alco-Brooks in December of 1908 and lasted in service until May of 1948. It was finally sold for scrap in December of 1949. Specs - 67" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x26" cylinders, engine wt of 181,000 lb, tractive effort of 29,093 lb. No exact date in 1936 nor a location were given for the photo. |
