Number 1053 was built by Baldwin in August 1901 (c/n 19473) as CM&StP 4-6-0 Vulclain compound (15&25X28 cylinders, 62 inch drivers) class B-4 number 378. Renumbered in August 1907 to CM&StP 1728, renumbered in September 1912 to 4328, rebuilt to simple in July 1915 (22X28 cylinders, 63 inch driver), reclassed to G-7-bs and renumbered to 2878, renumbered in November 1920 to 2870, renumbered in June 1938 to CMStP&P 1053, scrapped in December 1952. |

Originally built by Baldwin in 8/1901 as CM&StP Vauclain compound 4-6-0 #378, it was renumbered several times during its service record - renumbered in 8/1907 to #1728, renumbered in 9/1912 to #4328, renumbered in 7/1915 to #2878, renumbered in 11/1920 to 2870, renumbered in 6/1938 to #1053. The loco was finally scrapped in December of 1952, not long after this photo was taken - may have been the last one ever taken! . No photographer was listed for the photo. |
