MPI 9011
Title:  MPI 9011
Description:  The SP SD45s and BN F45s were retired by 1991 and replaced with leased rebuilt SD40s from Motive Power International. The 9011 has just stopped at Gilluly as steam rises from the ground. A fast snow squall just passed and the sun came out quickly melting the white stuff creating the steam.

MPI 9011
Title:  MPI 9011
Description:  Thistle was a small community where the Rio Grande maintained a helper base. In the spring of 1983, a mud slide created a natural dam that inundated Thistle forcing the evacuation of the residents and shut down the railroad. The Rio Grande detoured over the UP while contractors built a new alignment through Billies Mountain. By mid-July, service was restored over Soldier Summit. The 9011 is on the new alignment near Rio.
