Title:  LV RDC1 #40 - Lehigh Valley
Description:  The Budd RDC1 built in August of 1951 was caught as it stopped at the Lehigh Valley station in Hazleton, PA, by photogrpaher C.L. Andrews. After this RDC1 unit served the Lehigh Valley and Reading, it was saved from scrapping and has been preserved in the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, PA. Note on the back of the photo states that the LV station in Hazleton, PA, was razed in October of 1963. No date was listed so an approximate one was used.

LV RDC1 #40 - Lehigh Valley
Title:  LV RDC1 #40 - Lehigh Valley
Description:  Built by the Budd Company on August 23, 1951, this was a newer version of the original doodlebug concept in providing light passenger service in an economical way to branch lines. LV RDC1 #40 was one of only two (LV #41 the other) that Lehigh Valley tried out. It spent its years on the low capacity passenger service on the Hazelton area branch lines. After only 11 years, LV #40 was sold to the Reading in 1962, then to Septa and today is preserved at the RR Museum of Pennsylvania. No photographer was listed for the phot0.
