Title:
"From Baltimore To Harrisburg," Page 38, 1944
Description:
Here is page one of a four-page article by William Moedinger Jr., entitled "From Baltimore To Harrisburg On The PRR." It was published originally in the August 1944 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 38. Photo Caption: "The Washington section of the 'Liberty Limited' is really double-heading, but the Consolidation helper completely hides the K-4 Pacific road engine." In the lead is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3479, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata during July of 1913 and retired in October of 1952 after 39 years of faithful service. In this context, they're pulling the Baltimore/Washington-bound section of the "Liberty Limited" through Freeland, Maryland.
