Shown here are PRR engines #2400 and #2238. #2400 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. #2238 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are about to pass over the grade crossing in Tipton with a mixed-cargo freight train on their way to Altoona for a climb up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. |

Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2401, #2238, #7176, and #7187-B. #2401 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. #2238 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,200 horsepower. #7176 and #7187-B are EFS-17M's built by EMD in 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. They are about to cross Clearfield Avenue with a 104-car westbound iron-ore train along with N-8 caboose #478151. |
