Restored roundhouse  Contributor's Pick!
The roundhouse has been fully restored after collapsing during a snow storm in 2002. I never realized until I took the tour that this roundhouse was used to refurbish passenger cars--it was never used for locomotives because it is built primarily of wood. The B&O used mules to move the cars in and out of the roundhouse due to concerns that sparks from a locomotive would set it ablaze.
