| Despite the gap between northbound trains being pretty small, we decided to continue southward toward Galena when we noticed that the next northbound would be waiting on the last southbound at Galena Junction. We drove down to the Galena Boat Ramp as quickly as we could (that is the only grade crossing on the Aurora Subdivision in Galena) and made it just in time to grab U-CKBSWE1-01, an iron ore train, scream up the grade out of Galena Junction. All 3 BNSF paint schemes were on this train, including a rarer H2 GEVO on the front. A really neat boat sitting to the left of the tracks made for a nice object to frame the train with. |
