| 40th Anniversary SD40-2 #1983 was built for Burlington Northern in 1979 as #7178 then sold to Helm Leasing in 1999, keeping the same R/N. Sold to Norfolk Southern in 2013, renumbered 3544, refurbished and repainted at Juniata. Purchased by RBMN in 2020 and placed in storage until 2022 when it was renumbered 3062 and put into service but not repainted. In 2023 the "Blue Mountain Blue" scheme with yellow trim was applied at the West Cressona paint shop. This was the first hood unit scheme for predecessor Blue Mountain and Reading as worn by CF7s starting in 1984 |
