A neat little detail is that they've crossed out the coal capacity and replaced it with oil capacity. The #11 was actually built by Alco for a Cuban sugar plantation and was built as an oil burner. When the customer cancelled the order, the #11 was already built and sat at Schenectady for 3 years before being sold. The new purchaser wanted it to be coal-burning, so it was converted before delivery. A couple years back, Everett Railroad had it converted back to oil burning for ease of servicing and sourcing fuel. |
