Heading out with a tourist train is this odd diesel, a BL2 model built by EMD in April of 1949. Although an ugly duckling, it ranks up there in my favorite diesel list, partly due to the Monon RR having used BL2's in Indiana. The "BL" stands for "branch line" which this lighter weight diesel was built to be used on for local deliveries. No location or photographer was listed and only June, 1980 was given as the date. |
