Southern Pacific (Texas & New Orleans) Mk-5 class Mikado 770 was parked at the railroad’s ALGIERS SHOPS, across the Mississippi River from New Orleans, and probably never ran again. It had been built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works (39725) in April 1913 and was sold for scrap to Commercial Metals in Houston a year after this photo was taken, on 15 October 1954.
