SGLR DeSoto Turn w/RLCX 8598 Editors Pick!
Seminole Gulf is notoriously overgrown with vegetation north of Ft Myers. One of the few places you can rise above this, and get great light, is at the US 17 overpass. If you want to get a great shot of the DeSoto Turn, this is THE place. Note the "Trailing Service Only-Do Not Occupy" stencil markings on 8598, which is the only engine of the pair online & running.

Matt Adams General Wow great shot, not too many shots of the SGLR. I got skunked the one time I was able to go out and shoot that line. Thanks for sharing! 10/17/2006 5:06:01 PM
Mark Herren General I concur...great shot...alive with color! 2/24/2008 10:33:27 PM
Ron Moraca General The SGLR has needed new blood - power - for some time now, and I'm glad that the road finally got some. They have two B39-8's on their roster. 3/10/2009 6:46:39 PM
Ron Moraca General I'm sorry. There's only one B39-8 on SGLR's roster. 3/10/2009 6:51:53 PM
Dennis Mize General SGL has 3 B39-8E's, 590, 591 and 592. I-75 overpass north of here is/was another good location for down-on shots. 7/11/2009 9:01:19 PM
mikey cruz General well you guys will be happy to know they now have 6 on the list. and a few months ago sold a gp9 #575, I think they are anticipating that Intermodal thing to work out in PUNTA GORDA. 6/28/2011 12:13:03 PM
