"Riding The Pennsy's T-1," Page 37, 1943
Here is page six of an eight-page article by Russ Davis entitled "Riding The Pennsy's T-1." It was published originally in "The Mutual Magazine" and republished later in the July 1943 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 37. Photo Caption: "The T-1 is not articulated. Although the wheel arrangement is that of an articulated locomotive, the T-1 has a rigid wheelbase and rigid frame ~ a one-piece bed of nickel steel with the four cylinders, back cylinder heads, cross-braces, and various brackets and attachments cast integral." Partially visible here is PRR engine #6111, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during May of 1942 and retired in December of 1953 after just 11 years of revenue service.
