A CN unit train of tank cars crosses an apparently unnamed creek as it heads southeast via former C&NW rails at Oshkosh, WI on 11 May '19. Train had two locomotives, CN 3197 and another unit. The railroad bridge is undergoing repairs. Near the middle of the scene, you can see the abutments and pier that supported a bridge for the interurban line which ran from Fond du Lac to Oshkosh. Opened in 1903 by the Fond du Lac & Oshkosh Electric Railway, it later became part of the Wisconsin Power & Light. The railroad and interurban crossed at grade a short distance to the north. The line was abandoned in '27. |
