West View At MP 40

Tom Beckett	General	Those are automatic car identification readers. They read a transponder on each car, much like EZ Pass reads the one on your windshield. They have the reporting marks, and possibly info about lading, origin and destination. Someone with more detailed knowledge can fill in what I missed. It reports location to the railroad-and anyone else who has access, some shippers do-in real time. It's a real boon for car tracing.	5/19/2019 3:35:12 AM
