Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad Class DL-3 MINNEAPOLIS, date, location, and photographer unknown, Chuck Zeiler collection. It looks like a builder's photo, so I'm guessing the location was Pullman, on the south side of Chicago, Illinois, date was sometime around March 1928, Pullman-Standard photograph. This car was built by Pullman-Standard in March 1928 as MINNEAPOLIS ( no number ). The entire car was dedicated to lounge service, and included a small buffet. It was assigned to the Black Hawk, ( No. 47 and 48 ), a daily train between Chicago and Minneapolis. It was converted to coach number 4800 on December 19, 1942, scrapped at Eola December 31, 1965. |
