12th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 24 September 1962. Shown here is PRR engine #5900 and two other units whose numbers are not visible. All were built by EMD. #5900 is an EP-20 built in 1945 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound passenger train into the Altoona Station; its platform is visible in the foreground. Incidentally, this was the first "E" Series passenger locomotive purchased and operated by the PRR! |
