Ted Brumberg General The heavyweight passenger car on the right is SLRG #9168, named JOHN GREENLEAF WHITTIER, a 12 section-1 drawing room (12S-1DR) sleeper built in 1929 by Pullman in Lot #6220 to Plan #3410B, 1 of 16 such sleepers built in Lot #6220 for service on the Pennsylvania RR, all of which were sold to PRR at the 12/31/1948 Pullman divestiture; the JOHN GREENLEAF WHIITIER as PRR #8836. The WHITTIER was removed from Pullman service in 1967, and was later sold to the Ohio Railway Museum. Iowa Pacific acquired the WHITTIER in 2012.
