This 4-6-2 type 629 steam engine was built by LOKOMOTIVFABRIK KRAUSS & COMP LINZ A/D and delivered to BBO in 1927. When the Austrian rail system operated 1939-45 under German Reichsbahn it became DRB 77.250. Operated in the region of Klagenfurt / Germany she was heavly war damaged. 1949 she came back into Austrian service and became later OBB 77.250. She did her duty till 1973, when she was decommissioned. A preservation society of Principality of Liechtenstein took her over. The 77.250 was in too bad condition for restauration, so 77.244 replaced her and got the old/new number 77.250. After 3 years of rework the 77.250 (244) moved again in Dec.2007 under steam. Now she belongs to B&B Dampflokomotiven Betriebsgesellschaft m.b.H. at St. Poelten. -- Note: Schaan is not in Switzerland (but close by), the country Liechtenstein doesn't exist in RR database. |
