WE 111 on the Bullskin Branch
A rare look at the Wheeling and Lake Erie lending a hand on the SWP Railroad's Bullskin Branch. This line has only recently started being used again to load coal trains. Right now they are doing one train a week/four a month. Here it is crossing one of many bridges over Mountz Creek and shoving the empty gondolas back to be loaded. This was acquired by the Wheeling and Lake Erie in 1997 and rebuilt to a GP35-3 in May 2010. Built as DRGW 3045 in January 1965. has the name W.J. Holtman on the hood. He was president of the Denver Rio Grande and Western Railroad in the 1980s. Many former executives from the DRGW are now on the W&LE. Also before this was painted last year it still had Rio Grande on the side.
