The lead Amtrak unit of the 24 hour late CZ, better known by many as the "Train From Hell," which days before struck a snow drift in Nebraska and became stuck. After hours of digging the train out, BNSF power helped the train limp into DEN. However, the 2nd BNSF unit would derail near 31st St. Yard while the train backed into the depot, and would cause the train to offically become 24 hours late. Passengers from the train shown spent the night in Denver, and where move onto a new train set, from which the picture was taken from as we departed. The set shown would later dead-head to Chicago. |
