GM&O Canal Yard 1970         
Bumper post on track #16 was the southern-most point on the GM&O system, according to the GMO HS. The Canal Yard, roughly near the present NOPB France Yard, opened 2/1/1932 and closed 8/12/1972, had 6 main yard tracks, no resident switchers, and was an GMO "island" yard. SOU tracks were used to get to the yard from Slidell. Approximate Date.
