AMTK 9372
Passengers in Amtrak dome-buffet-lounge car 9372 enjoy the scenery as the eastbound San Francisco Zephyr winds along the Truckee River. AMTK 9372 was ex-SP 3603, rebuilt as a dome buffet lounge in 1955 from SP counter-tavern car 10310, originally n Pullman-Standard car from the 1937 Daylight. After leaving Amtrak service the car spent time in Florida as an ice cream parlor and as part of a railroad-theme restaurant. It was later refprbished in New Orleans and returned to service on the Panama Canal Railway as PCRC 102 "Rio Chagres." Date of this photo approximate.
