CB&Q 2-8-2 Class O-1-A 4960
Title:  CB&Q 2-8-2 Class O-1-A 4960
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 2-8-2 Class O-1-A 4960 westbound at Aurora, Illinois on July 4, 1963, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Once upon a time, you could ride behind a coal burning steam locomotive, and not complain because you got a cinder in the eye. Most of the gentlemen in the gondola are wearing goggles, and from personal experience, I can attest that this was required eyewear for a fantrip like this. You were also shampooing cinders out of your scalp fo the next few days if you didn't wear a hat.
