CB&Q BA19 994
Title:  CB&Q BA19 994
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad class BA19 994, somewhere in Colorado, around 1969 or so, scan from a CB&Q in-house publication, the Burlington Bulletin. The BA19 baggage cars were built between 1950-1953 in the CB&Q's Havelock Nebraska shops, and were known to CB&Q employees as Havelock Baggage cars. They were built with and without Messenger facilities (toilet), as indicated by a star below the Railway Express Agency stencil between the doors. The BA19's were in the 900 series (with facilities) and the BA19A's were in the 1000 series (without facilities). Number's 990-1009 were painted Aluminum (silver) while 1015-1054 were painted standard heavyweight green. I had to guess about the date (before March 1970, when the California Zephyr was discontinued) and location, but it is clearly on the D&RGW, so it's somewhere west of Denver.
