Built by Alco-Brooks in 1913, the 4-6-2 Pacific type steam locomotive was a common sight in the Midwest during the 1920-30's. Specs - class P-40, 74" drivers, 190 psi boiler pressure, 25.5x28" cylinders, engine weight of 281,500 lb, tractive effort of 39,736 lb. The class was retired starting in the late 1930's but some lasted unitl 1952. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo. |
