Title: |
MoPac FNZ |
Description: |
Missouri Pacific train FNZ was nearing the end of its trip from CENTENNIAL YARD in Fort Worth to the Seaboard System's GENTILLY YARD on the east side of New Orleans. SD40-2 3276, GP35m 2604, SD40 3027 and SD40-2 3304 power the train over the New Orleans Public Belt at Audubon Park, and the photo was taken from atop the Mississippi River levee. Just five weeks later - when the World's Fair opened on on 12 May - trains began using the NS to get from the MP to the Seaboard System and no longer used this route. |
