Description: |
This is one of the first Alco Scheneatady built Berkshires for the Nickel Plate that spawned eventually a large group. Delivered in September of 1934 as one of the class 5 Berkshires, it had 69" drivers developed powerful 245 psi boiler pressure. After serving for nearly 23 years, it was sold for scrap in August of 1957 to Luntz Iron & Steel Co. Unfortunately the location and date of this rhoto is unknown. |
