U30Cs were getting hard to find by the late 80s. UP had retired most of theirs, as had Santa Fe, though BNs soldiered on in coal service. D&Hs own were long gone by this time. This CSX unit strayed up from the south, finding its way to East Binghamton on PYRP. I can count on the fingers of one hand the U30Cs I saw here, so this was a good catch. |
