Album Info:Smithers Lake is the rail destination for PRB coal in Thompsons, TX and is the sole cooling water source for the condensers of two of the four coal units located adjacent to the lake at the W A Parish generating plant near Houston. Condenser cooling water for the remaining two coal units is provided by atmospheric cooling towers. There is also four natural gas fired units on this site with each taking its condenser cooling water from the lake.
