Viewing Album:  Amtrak Itinerary – Philly to Memphis and New Orleans and return

Album Info:My wife and I did a weeklong Amtrak Itinerary starting and ending at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. Philly to New York / Penn Station / Moynihan Hall on the first leg. Then the Lake Shore Limited west to South Bend, IN, where we de-trained from the LSL and took a foamer’s detour to ride the Chicago South Shore Electric from South Bend Airport into Milenium Station. Then Chicago to Memphis aboard the City of New Orleans. We stayed two nights at a hotel in Memphis. Our next leg: Memphis to New Orleans the CONO was cancelled due to server issues in Chicago that cancelled multiple long distance trains. We rented a car to get down to New Orleans, where we had two nights in a hotel, then the Crescent for the overnight return trip to Philly / 30th Street. On long distance Amtrak trains like these, I hop off at the longer station stops to hopefully get a shot of the head end. Here’s a compilation of mostly train shots taken during our whirlwind Amtrak trip.
