Album Info:As a part of initial run-in testing of newly-restored Reading Company Class T-1 2102, the Reading and Northern had it pull a test train comprised of 50 empty hoppers plus a caboose from North Reading, PA to Jim Thorpe, PA. The 50-car train was calculated to be similar to the load 2102 is expected to pull in upcoming passenger excursions over the railroad. The big T-1 performed admirably in both directions on Hometown hilll north of Tamaqua, PA. For me it was a unique opportunity to see a Reading T-1 hauling a coal train through Anthracite Country, including home rails.
