Album Info:Including Mass Coastal, Cape Cod Central and abandoned lines. All lines on Cape Cod were former New Haven including the main line to Provincetown (removed east of Yarmouth), the Hyannis branch (in service) and the line to Woods Hole. The main line east of Yarmouth to Provincetown is a rail trail in some parts, with the Woods Hole branch a bikeway south of North Falmouth. Passenger service east of Hyannis was replaced with bus service before World War II and the line remained open for freight service, cut back from Provincetown to North Eastham by 1960 and back to South Dennis in 1965, just east of the current end of the line in Yarmouth at a waste transfer station. Cape Cod is connected to the mainland by the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge, a 544 foot lift span built in 1935 that was the world's largest until the Arthur Kill Bridge in Staten Island, New York in 1959.
