In 2005 this GP38 was sold to Yadkin Valley as YVRR 3615 then transferred to Conecuh Valley Railroad as COEH 3615 and finally renumbered COEH 2022 in April 2013. During the rebuild this SD40 traded the standard SD40 Flexicoil-C trucks for HT-Cs, electrical upgrades, and microprocessor controls installed by VMV resulting in this unit being called an SD40-3MPR. The HT-C trucks and EMD paint job makes it hard to tell this unit was originally delivered as an SD40, in this photo EMDX 2000 is idling in BNSF Alliance Yard in Haslet after delivering a manifest drag. After the demonstration tour was over this unit was sold to Portland & Western and currently works as PNWR 3300 in GWI corporate orange and black. |

MRL 315 |
Description: |
Delivered to Southern Pacific as SD45 9103 in April 1969 this diesel worked until being sent to Sacramento when it emerged in March 1985 as SD45R 7541. In December 1996 Union Pacific retired this unit and it was soon afterward aquired by Montana Rail Link; rebuilt, renumbered, and repainted becoming MRL 315 SD45-2XR. This locomotive has undergone two heavy rebuilds by two different railroads but has kept the distinctive exterior apperance of the SD45. In this photo MRL 315 is idling in BNSF Haslet Yard waiting for the next departing train with another MRL F45 idling in the background. |
