Description:  The third engine on an idling and tied down iron ore train, an SD40-3 rebuild of the Wheeling and Lake Erie Brewster shops, formerly Union Pacific 3016 SD40 built in 1966. Another crew took the train out 12 hours later in the middle of the night, to take it to Baltimore, MD.

Since the last time I photographed this engine, it has gotten new number boards but now it has a burnt out ditch light. WE 3016 is a former Wisconsin Central 3016, Oxford 3016, and Union Pacific 3016 SD40 built in 1966. Acquired by Wheeling and Lake Erie in 1992 and rebuilt by their Brewster Shops in September 2000.
